Altered Tag

I made this tag/wall hanging for my mom's new home! I used Maggie Holmes paper, metal trinkets and lots of Tim Holtz supplies. I am entering this tag in this week's challenge over at the Simon Say Stamp Monday Challenge Blog .  The theme this week is 'Anything Goes'!

Altered Vintage Book - Garden Mini Album

A few months ago, my mom gave me a bunch of her old college textbooks, from the early seventies.       They are just perfect for journals and minis. They are the perfect size, the paper is perfectly aged and they have handwritten notes in them from my mother which I just love.      This book, I decided to use as a mini album for all my garden photos from this past spring.  Here are the first two pages. Thank so much for looking!

Inspired by... Vivian Keh of Contadina K

It seems when I am short on time and just need to make something, it's easiest for me to find inspiration from other artists.       This is the second project I have done recently inspired by the amazingly creative and delightfully different artist, Vivian Keh. ( her blog)      Also known as Contadina K, she does amazing textural work with the hot glue gun. You might have seen her work with Sizzix, which is ah-mazing.       I came across a video in which she did a tag using texture paste and embossing powder and it had crazy texture. Blog post which includes a video tutorial for her tag I just had to re-create it. It requires few supplies and packs a HUGE punch. B asically you need: Texture Paste (I didn't have texture paste, so I used Viva Inka Gold Metallic Rub instead. The Inka Gold has a much stiffer texture, so I added some water to it.) Gold Embossing Powder Distress Ink My supplies are pictured below: Black Soot & Vintage Photo Distress Ink

12 Tags of 2014-August

Lately, I have had very little time to craft. However yesterday, by some miraculous divine intervention, I had about an hour for my art. So I sit down to make something and.nothing.happened.        I was sooooo frustrated. Oh and for added pressure, I wanted to film my process because my YouTube channel has been so neglected. Whenever I am feeling uninspired, I go to Pinterest. While I was there I came across some a tag done by Tim Holtz for his web series, 12 Tags of 2014. I never participate, but for some reason I just had to recreate this tag.      And so, this tag was born. Not as good as coming up with my own original idea, but I will take what I can get. In case you are unfamiliar with Tim Holtz, here is his tag along with his tutorial . Tim's Tag My interpretation of Tim's tag.   Click here to check out my process for this tag on my youtube channel! The Dina Wakley Media Stamps are amazing quality! The modeling paste i

New Blog!!

So here's the thing...  I generally am not good at following thru with things. I start with the best intentions, go gung-ho, balls to the wall, then... I fizzle out. However,  my YouTube channel is different. I started it a year ago and have been going strong posting several videos a week (with a few exceptions) for over a year now. I love my YouTube channel and have met some wonderful amazing people thru it. When I started thinking about new things I wanted to do on the internet, a blog felt like the natural progression for me. Writing was my first creative love long before I ever started doing art of any kind. Words have always held so much expressive power for me. Why not have a place where my two loves (words & art) can coexist in an exciting way.  I can't promise that it will always be just words and art. I don't know about any of you, but I get inspired by so many things on a daily basis. My mind goes in a million different directions at any given mome
