Our Mixed Media Moods "Trust"

We are back, baby! DeeDee and I took a little break but we are back with our monthly collab "Our Mixed Media Moods.

Every month one of us creates a mood board and then we create projects based on that mood board. We also create detailed process videos of our projects.

So without further ado....

Here is this month's mood board!

We are using transparent layers, transparency, fabric, stitching, text, vintage book text, wood, fibers, vintage sewing patterns, tissue paper, machine sewing, encaustic, weaving, scribbles and mark making, browns, tans, whites, creams, vintage colors

For my project I used a lot of elements from the board. I started with using the color scheme. I also used transparent layers and book text.

I used some resin papers and machine sewing. I even tried hand stitching. I stitched my chipboard word with white embroidery thread. I also tried some French knots under my main cluster.

I used the "trust" chipboard piece as my wood element because it looked a little like wood to me. Lastly, I used clear stones for a finishing touch to my tag.

Unfortunately, due to some unforeseen technical difficulties, I was unable to have my video up in time for the release. I hope to have it up in the next few days. In the meantime, be sure to check out DeeDee's video here. Also, you can check out DeeDee's blog post. the blog post here.

Thanks so much for looking!

  1. This is Fabulous! Welcome back and look forward to the 2018 challenges!

  2. Absolutely amazing! Definitely holding my breath for the video! :)

Mini Moleskine Art Journal Page #2 - "Compliments"

It has been awhile since I pulled out my Mini Moleskine Art Journal. I just love the size. I can quickly ::cough, cough:: make a page or two and call it done.

In my Mini Moleskine I usually make fairly simple pages. That is why there usually aren't process videos for them. This double page spread is different. It took me almost 2 hours to complete!

Be sure to check out the process video to find out how I made these pages as well as all the supplies I used. Video below the photos.
