Index Card Art - Use Your Scraps

If you are like me, you have a ton of scraps from projects that you just cannot part with. I save every little bit and piece. The problem is, I end with all these bits and they never get used because it is just too much to go through. If I need a scrap, I'll cut into a new piece of paper because it is easier.

So, I decided to try to use up these scraps. This past week, I put every scrap into a bin. Then at the end of the week, I made a project using those scraps. Let me tell you, it felt good and I will be dong this more often.

This is the index card I made using my scraps.

      Thanks, Amira! I have all my icad2014 cards hanging on like binder rings, in an album of sorts, but no official album yet.

Our Mixed Media Moods "Trust"

We are back, baby! DeeDee and I took a little break but we are back with our monthly collab "Our Mixed Media Moods. Every month one of us creates a mood board and then we create projects based on that mood board. We also create detailed process videos of our projects. So without further ado.... Here is this month's mood board! We are using transparent layers, transparency, fabric, stitching, text, vintage book text, wood, fibers, vintage sewing patterns, tissue paper, machine sewing, encaustic, weaving, scribbles and mark making, browns, tans, whites, creams, vintage colors For my project I used a lot of elements from the board. I started with using the color scheme. I also used transparent layers and book text. I used some resin papers and machine sewing. I even tried hand stitching.
