NaNoJouMo 2015 Day #12 (Art Journal Page - "You are Shining")

Day #12 of NaNoJouMo !

These last few days I feel like I really dialed it in. Which would be fine, except when I put something out there on YouTube I feel like it should have taken me a lot of time. I know, it's silly.

You are seeing my process for NaNoJouMo. You are seeing how I work with a daily art journaling challenge. This is real. Haha.

I don't have a lot of time, so some pages will be less involved than others. And that is just how it is right now.
So this page is all about using some of my favorite colors and these broad strokes of movement throughout a piece that I am really loving.

The Cracked Pistachio Distress color is really the perfect light teal. I just love it.

  1. Hi Jenn! I love your process videos, they give me so many new ideas! Even though this page is short and simple I love the colors and the composition. I tend to get bogged down in the idea that if a page isn't going to take me hours to create than it's not even worth it to get out my supplies! Consequently I don't art as much as I should (or even as much as I'd like to!) Crazy, I know! I love your example that it doesn't need to be complicated to be worthwhile and beautiful! Also, I love your nail polish and that it matches your page : )

    1. Thanks, Tina! Yeah, this art journaling everyday is really teaching me to keep things simple. I have kind of been in a slump and switching it up like this turned out to be just the thing to JumpStart my creativity. ☺

"Create Joy" || Mini Junk Journal

I have the first page in my mini junk journal to share today! It is on ledger paper which I made sure to cover with clear gesso so the paper would hold up. it is a very Dina Wakley-esque page, with a splot of Dylusions Ink and some magenta paint. It came together very quickly, which is exactly what I wanted for this 'art everyday' venture. To see exactly how I made it, you can watch the process video at the end of this post. There is also a complete supply list with links to everything I used on this page.
